(f/n) sucked in her gut and frowned at her reflection in the mirror.

"Are you sure this dress looks okay Rose?" She asked, turning her head to look at her friend.

"Of course I am. You look absolutely wonderful (f/n)." Rose said, giving you a reassuring smile.

"If you say so." The girl sighed, pulling up the front of her dress and tucking a strand of (h/l), (h/c) hair behind her ear.

-timeskip a few hours, give or take-

Dave stepped out of his car, readjusting his white tie and straightening his black suit jacket.

Walking up the front steps to (f/n)'s house, he took a deep breath before ringing the doorbell.

There was a shuffling from inside, before the door swung inwards hurriedly.

Dave's jaw dropped slightly, his eyes sweeping up and down (f/n)'s body.

She had on a floor length, sleeveless (f/c) dress, her (h/l) (h/c) hair adorned with a small silver pin that matched the embroidered silver sash around her waist. Her eyelids were dusted with a light coat of (f/c) eyeshadow, her eyelashes lengthened with a touch of black mascara and a subtle pink lipstick highlighted her soft lips.

"Do I look okay?" (f/n) asked worriedly.

"You look… stunning." Dave said, his eyes quickly moving up to meet hers.

(f/n) smiled shyly, holding her hands behind her back. "Thanks."

"So, are you ready to go?" Dave asked, holding out his arm to (f/n).

She nodded, looping her arm with his and closing the door behind her.

-timeskip because awkward car ride ew no thanks-

Dave held (f/n)'s hand as they walked into the school gym.

There were already many other couples there, some sitting at the tables surrounding the dance floor and some dancing to the music that was drifting from the stage to the far corners of the room.

(f/n)'s eyes scanned the room, landing on the punch table with delight.

"I'm going to go get snacks. Stay here if you want." She told her friend, striding to the table.

Dave chuckled and staked his claim on an empty table, pushing his sunglasses back up the bridge of his nose.

(f/n) reached the punch table, grabbing an ice filled cup and pouring some of the red punch in it. After a moment, she decided to grab another cup for Dave.

Punch in hand, along with a cookie that was clamped tight in her mouth, she spotted Dave at a table and strode quickly over to him.

Dave looked over at (f/n) who sat in the chair opposite him after setting a cup full of punch in front of him.

"You know, the guy is normally supposed to get the punch." He told (f/n), taking a sip of the artificially sweet red liquid.

"Yeah, but if you had gone, I wouldn't have ended up with a cookie." (f/n) said, wiggling the cookie in the air before taking a bite.

Dave chuckled and set his cup down on the table, watching (f/n) as she finished her cookie in a matter of seconds.

"Do you wanna dance?" Dave asked, casually noting the fact that the songs had started slowing down a little.

"Sure!" (f/n) replied enthusiastically, standing up and pulling Dave with her to the dance floor.

Dave followed her without protesting while she glided to the dance floor, waving to Rose who returned the gesture with a smile.

The pair danced to some of the faster songs, before a slow song came on and (f/n) frowned.

"Maybe we should go back to the table." She said as some of the couples around them started to sway gently to the music.

"What, you scared of a little slow-dancing?" Dave asked.

"You know as well as I do that I can't slow dance." (f/n) replied, crossing her arms over her chest.

"Well, that makes two of us. But it can't hurt to try. I mean, it doesn't look that hard." Dave said, gesturing to the people around them.

"Fine. But just this one song." (f/n) said, frowning as she attempted to find out where to put her hands.

"Um, here." Dave said, taking her hands and placing them on his shoulders, hoping that that was where they were supposed to go.

He then carefully laid his hands on (f/n)'s hips, a blush making it's way on to both of their cheeks.

They then started to slowly sway side to side in an awkward, unsure way as (f/n) gently laid her head on Dave's chest.

Dave looked down at the girl curiously, who just gave him a shrug.

About halfway through the song, Dave removed one of his hands from (f/n)'s waist and used it to tilt her head up to face him.

"(f/n), I need to tell you something." Dave sighed, pushing his sunglasses up on his head to reveal his dazzling red eyes.

"Go ahead." (f/n) told him, raising one eyebrow slightly.

"Well, we've known each other since first grade, and then we were just friends. But, now, I guess I just sort of realized that maybe I don't want to be friends anymore." Dave said, his voice wavering slightly with nervousness.

(f/n) raised her eyebrows in shock. If he didn't want to be friends with her, why did he invite her to the dance? Did he bring her here just to humiliate her in front of the entire school? Maybe-

Her thoughts cut off as Dave resumed speaking. "I guess what I'm trying to say is, (f/n) (l/n), I think I'm falling for you."

Oh. Well, that would make sense too.

"I think I am too Dave." She said.

Dave gently cupped her cheek, and taking a deep breath, leaned in and kissed her.

It seems that tonight went better then you had originally thought it would.

The End ; )
And that wins the award for most ooc Dave. Also, my grandpa taught me how to dance when I was five, but hell if I remember how.
